Lucie's Place currently has an AmeriCorps VISTA position open.
Lucie's Place is a non-profit organization in Little Rock, Arkansas, assisting homeless lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender (LGBT) young adults (18-25) in their journey towards independence.
The VISTA of Lucie’s Place will be responsible for: developing, implementing and maintaining a community volunteer program; working with our Advisory Board to develop and implement community events; developing, implementing and maintaining a system for tracking donations and; assisting the Executive Director in researching, writing and editing funding requests, primarily for funding from private foundations. The community volunteer program will serve as the largest project for the VISTA. This program will allow us to create a sustainable, structured program, allowing Lucie’s Place to effectively utilize volunteer time from local community members. The event coordination will ensure that the organization remains visible to community members and that they stay connected. The Executive Director currently serves as the sole grant-writer for Lucie’s Place. The VISTA will assist the Executive Director in the researching, writing and editing of these proposals.
Applicants should have experience with Microsoft word & Excel and/or Google Docs & Sheets. Applicants should be outgoing and comfortable working with community members.

Please note that this is a VISTA position and not a traditional employment opportunity. In the VISTA program, you commit to serving at Lucie's Place for one year and you'll receive a living allowance. At the end of your year, you receive a stipend that can be used to pay for school or pay off school debt. More information about the VISTA program can be found here.
