Free Counseling Program
Lucie's Place free counseling program is available to LGBT young adults who are currently homeless, are at risk of becoming homelessness or have past experiences with homelessness. Clients of the program will meet with our volunteer licensed & insured independent counselors to discuss issues regarding family and friends,
depression, loneliness, housing, etc. Counseling services will take place downtown and each client will receive bus passes for transportation to and from their sessions.
If you would like to sign up for the free counseling program, please fill out this form and we will contact you to begin the intake process.
"An Epidemic of Homelessness"
"LGBT homeless youth are especially vulnerable to depression, loneliness and psychoso- matic illness, withdrawn behavior, social problems and delinquency. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the fact that LGBT youth live in “a society that discriminates against and stigmatizes homosexuals” makes them more vulner- able to mental health issues than heterosexual youth. This vulnerability is only magnified for LGBT youth who are homeless."
